The Workshop on Prevention and Control of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Avian Influenza (AI) in East Asia was held in Beijing on Dec. 16, 2016.
The Workshop analyzed the statues quo, the epidemic tendency and challenges of FMD and AI control faced by East Asian countries, exchanged country policies and technical countermeasures, and discussed joint control on major animal diseases, in a bid to secure sound livestock development and enhance public health security in the region.
Delegates presenting the Workshop included officials from competent veterinary authorities of China, Japan and Republic of Korea, representatives of the FAO Representation in China, and researchers from China Animal Disease Control Center, China Animal Health & Epidemiology Center, Harbin Veterinary Research Institute and Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
